Western Regional Camp: Southern California Date: jan. 18-19, 08 Snow Summit Resort
Specifics:
- Come enjoy some snow and fun with the JDRF / PADRE Foundation / Diabetic Youth Services. This is an all day event that will start early morning and will end when the sun goes down. Activities include snowboarding instructions from professional snowboarder Sean Busby, and Diabetes education.
- Bus transportation is provided from Children's Hospital Orange County.
- This outing is for teens 13 to 19 years old and limited to the first 45 registered teens! A special thanks to our sponsors, Identity Board Shop and Snow Valley!
- Snowboarders of all levels, including beginners, are encouraged to register. All boarders must have their own equipment. If you do not have equipment, you will need to rent it the night before the trip at Sport Chalet or another store.
- On _, all teens and their parents are invited to Children's Hospital of Orange County at 6 p.m. for dinner and an informative evening. The evening will feature vendors with the latest diabetes technology and products; teens will get to meet Sean Busby; and a discussion with an Endocrinologist about diabetes and exercise and the lowering of insulin rates for activities such as snowboarding.
Lodging:
The event will be at Snow Valley near Big Bear Lake, California. Transportation will be provided from CHOC Hospital in Orange County, California to the resort and back. Lodging is not required as this is a one day event.
